Please read this operation manual carefully before use and operate according to the instructions provided for maximum safety and performance. We recommend that you keep this manual handy for future reference.
Description FeaturesWhisper Quiet Operation with Mute Function -Allows you to keep your incubator in close proximity to your breeders for minimum time between removals from the nest area to placement in the incubator.
Digital Temperature Control -Raise or lower the temperature from 36o to 140 o F, to provide a consistent environment for your eggs regardless of your location, climate, and season.
Large LED Digital Readout -Monitor the temperature status as it reaches your pre-selected setting.
Interior LED White Light -Switch is located on front panel and allows you to take a sneak peek inside without disturbing your carefully maintained environment.
On/Off Switch -Switch is located on front panel and allows you to turn the unit off and on between uses.
Adjustable Shelf -Shelf can be adjusted to three different heights to allow maximum utilization of your space. Need an extra shelf? Check the Accessories section of this manual to find out how to make your own!
Slide out Tray -Add water to this tray to maintain high humidity.
Carry Handle/ Car Adapter -For the first time, you are free to travel during hatching season with this convenient carry handle and car outlet adapter. Initial Set-up This will need to be performed BEFORE your eggs are ready for incubation!
1. Fill your water tray. Use the slide out tray in the bottom of the unit to add humidity to your environment. Keep this tray filled with water throughout incubation. Since evaporation is based on the temperature at which you are incubating, you will need to check the water every day to maintain an optimal level. 2. Set your temperature. Use the up/down buttons located on the front panel to adjust to your desired temp. The unit will automatically heat or cool based on the ambient temperature inside the unit to maintain a consistent temperature, with a variation of +/- 2 Degrees F. Please note that there is a temp variation of 2 degrees from the top to the bottom of the unit, with the digital readout reflecting the upper most temperature. You will want to monitor this temperature over a period of 24 hours to ensure stabilization of the environment. 3. Stabilize your temperature. Place small containers of water at each level within your incubator, checking the temperature of the water with a thermometer at 4 hour intervals. Make note of what the temperature was at each location. Adjust the temperature based on your readouts until you have an acceptable temperature range for your species of egg. We have provided a table at the end of the manual to monitor temps.
You are ready to Incubate! Please research what temperatures and substrates are preferred for incubation of your specific species. If you purchased your specimen from us here at ReptiPro, please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Technical Specifications Power Consumption DC Power: Cool Mode 50W, Hot Mode 40W Features Operation
Operating Voltage: 12V DC or 110V AC, with two adapters designed for use in home or travel. For AC (home) use: Plug one end into back of unit, other end into wall socket. For DC (travel) use: Plug one end into back of unit, other end into car, boat, truck, van, or RV cigarette lighter socket.
On/Off Switch: Push the bottom to switch from off to on. Once switched on, the unit will begin working and the outer LED will display the actual temperature inside the unit.
Temperature Adjustments: Use the up/down arrow keys on the front panel to adjust the temperature inside the unit.
Interior Light: Press the light switch on the front control panel to turn the interior light off or on.
Mute Switch: There is a mute/normal switch located on the back of the unit. Please note that when this is switched to mute mode, the speed of the fan will reduce. This means the machine will operate more quietly, but that there will be less air circulation inside the unit. Please use this feature only if truly needed, otherwise leave on the setting you originally stabilized your temperature with.
Maintenance and Cleaning • Accumulated dust will impede the air flow and affect the cooling and warming capability of the unit. • Disconnect power before cleaning • Use clean wet cloth and neutral detergents to clean- strong chemicals may damage plastic parts. • Do not immerse in water • For dirt on ventilator, use a vacuum cleaner or soft brush to remove dust, then wipe with damp cloth.
Safety Precautions 1. Keep out of reach of water or rain for proper use and to protect against electrical shock. 2. Do not pull the power cord. Make sure the plug is tightly fitted into the power socket. 3. Turn off the unit and disconnect from socket when not in use. 4. Do not touch the power plug if your hands are wet. 5. To avoid electrical shock, do not open the rear cabinet for repair or cleaning unless done by an authorized agent. 6. Place the unit on a safe, flat, stable surface when in use. 7. Keep out of reach of children.
Accessories Many accessories are available at www.reptipro.com. This would include substrate, deli cups, window suction cup digital thermometers, and quality specimens.
Need an extra shelf? 1. Find a suitable material for creating your new shelf from. We recommend a foam core board or corrugated plastic material. These supplies are available at a printing or craft shop. Whatever material you choose, make sure it is sturdy enough to support your eggs, and won’t encourage bacterial growth or hold moisture. 2. Use your supplied shelf as a template to create your new shelf by tracing the outline of it onto your selected material. You will have a little wiggle room, but try to stay as accurate as possible. 3. Cut your new shelf out on the line you just traced. We would suggest possibly cutting a few small holes- none close to the size of deli cup you will be using to hold your eggs, but large enough to provide better air flow through the unit. 4. You are finished! Insert your new shelf at one of the three levels, and enjoy even more space for your eggs.
